The problem with video arcade games is that the longer you hang onto them, the less intrinsic value they have. Newer technology, better graphics, and screens are flooding the ever-dwindling arcades. Where X-box, PlayStation, and Wii have taken over, and the best thing is, those don’t come with a HUGE cabinet and just one game enclosed to play on it.
Coin-op Video arcade games simply don’t hold their value like a pinball machine or a nice car. Any damage to the cabinet, screen, or panels quickly devalues the games. Then there are issues like “the game works fine after it warms up”. That means that the game’s monitor is going… more specifically that the monitor’s capacitors need to be replaced soon. Every monitor technician will tell you that it may be just one cap that is bad, but you should desolder and replace them all.
