The problem with video arcade games is, the longer you hang onto them, the less intrinsic value they have. Newer technology, better graphics and screens are flooding the ever dwindling arcades. Where X-box, Playstation and Wii have taken over and the best thing is, those don’t come with a HUGE cabinet and just one game enclosed to play on it.
Coin-op Video arcade games simply don’t hold there value like a pinball machine or a nice car. Any damage to the cabinet, screen or panels starts to devalue the games quickly. Then there are issues like “game works fine after it warms up”. That means that the game’s monitor is going… more specifically that the monitor’s capacitors need to be replaced soon. Every monitor technician will tell you that it maybe just one cap that is bad, but you should desolder and replace them all.
